The Quang Tri Department of Education and Training announced on the morning of 9/7 that it convened an emergency meeting after receiving reports of irregularities at Le Truc High School during the high school graduation exam.
The department established a special working group. This group will collaborate with the police and other agencies to advise the Exam Steering Committee. Their mandate is to inspect and review the entire invigilation process and results at the test center to detect any irregularities or fraud.
The incident began with social media posts on the evening of 9/7. These posts widely shared a message from an individual claiming to be a candidate at the Le Truc High School test center. The message alleged that some invigilators and exam council members guided and provided answers to candidates.
A department representative stated, "Our consistent stance is that if violations are detected, we will handle them within our authority and request strict action from competent agencies. There will be no tolerance or cover-up, and we will protect the legitimate interests of candidates."
The 2026 high school graduation exam took place on 11-12/6, involving over 1.2 million candidates. When the Ministry of Education and Training announced the results on 1/7, the scores from Tuyen Quang specialized high school drew attention. Over 290 out of 328 candidates at this school scored above 9 in mathematics.
Following this, suspicions of irregularities emerged at numerous other test centers. Consequently, the Ministry of Education and Training requested all provinces and cities to review their high school graduation exam results. This directive aims to promptly detect, investigate, verify, and address any potential anomalies.
