The 2025 high school graduation exam will take place on 26/6 and 27/6, with over 1.16 million students, an increase of nearly 100,000 compared to last year. Students will complete exam procedures on the afternoon of 25/6.
Two exam schedules
This year, students following both the new (2018) and old (2006) general education programs will take the exam on the same dates, but the number of subjects and exam content will differ. Students need to be aware of this to avoid confusion.
Nearly 1.14 million students under the new program will take four exams: math and literature are compulsory, along with two elective subjects (chemistry, physics, biology, geography, history, economics and law, computer science, technology, and foreign language).

Over 26,700 students under the old program will take literature, math, and a foreign language, plus one of two exams: natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology) or social sciences (history, geography, civic education).

Check your exam admission slip
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, all students must arrive at their exam rooms at 2 PM on 25/6 for exam procedures. They should check their information, review registered subjects, receive their exam admission slips, and listen to the exam regulations.
Students should present their citizen identity cards during this process. The VNeID app cannot be used, as electronic devices like mobile phones are prohibited in exam rooms.
Upon receiving their exam admission slip, students should immediately report any incorrect personal information, such as name, date of birth, or priority area, to the proctor to ensure timely correction and protect their rights during the official exam.
In case of a lost citizen identity card or other necessary documents, students must immediately inform the exam center head for consideration and resolution.
Prohibited items in the exam room
The 2025 high school graduation exam regulations specify that students are allowed to bring pens, rulers, pencils, erasers, set squares, graph drawing tools, geometry tools, and non-programmable calculators without memory cards into the exam room.
Unlike previous years, students following the new program are not allowed to bring geography atlases into the exam room. Those following the old program can still use them.
Prohibited items include: carbon paper, correction fluid, alcoholic beverages, weapons, explosives, flammable materials, documents, communication devices (transmitting or receiving information, recording audio or video), or any materials containing information for cheating.
Arrive on time and check your exam paper
Students must arrive on time. Arriving more than 15 minutes after the official exam start time will result in disqualification from that exam session, meaning they will not be eligible for high school graduation.
Before starting the exam, students must fill in their registration number and other required information on the exam paper, answer sheet, and scratch paper. Upon receiving the exam paper, students must carefully check the number of pages, print quality, and exam code on each page.
If any pages are missing, torn, damaged, or blurry, students must immediately notify the proctor within the first 5 minutes of the exam. Otherwise, students are fully responsible for the exam paper they received.
Each exam center has original exam papers for verification. The Ministry recommends students proactively and thoroughly check their exam papers upon receipt. This is their responsibility and right to ensure their results are not affected by technical errors.
