FPT Polytechnic sets Vietnam record at Hanoi Midnight Run

FPT Polytechnic College has been recognized by the Vietnam Records Organization as the school with the most individuals, 186 lecturers and students, completing the 42km distance in a single event.

On the morning of 30/11, FPT Polytechnic College achieved a Vietnam record at the 5th Hanoi Midnight Run. A total of 186 lecturers and students successfully completed the 42km full marathon, participating alongside over 10,000 athletes who navigated Hanoi's central streets. The Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) officially recognized FPT Polytechnic for having the most lecturers and students from a single college complete the full marathon distance in one event. The certificate was presented to the FPT Polytechnic Board of Directors at a recognition ceremony held on the same morning at Muong Thanh Grand Ha Noi Centre Hotel.

This achievement, with nearly 200 members completing the marathon, demonstrates FPT Polytechnic's unity, discipline, and youthful energy. A school representative stated this success stems from years of an educational model emphasizing sports and encouraging students to maintain daily physical activity. "This serves as motivation for the FPoly community to continue fostering a love for sports, persistently overcome challenges, and conquer greater milestones," the representative shared.

Running was integrated into the school's curriculum in 2020, according to Nguyen Thi Trang, Head of the Personal Development Department. Students are encouraged to complete 2km daily to build exercise habits and track progress through distance and time data.

On weekends, lecturers and students run together at Me Tri Park starting at 5h. Every two months, the school organizes internal competitions with distances ranging from 5km to 21km. Currently, 100% of department lecturers maintain daily running.

Starting early 2025, the school established the FPoly Run 42km club, operating in small groups of 10 to 15 students, accompanied by lecturers. To register for the marathon distance in official races, students must complete 21km in internal competitions and maintain training for several months before race day.

The 5th Hanoi Midnight Run took place from 0h on 30/11, featuring over 10,000 athletes across four distances: 5, 10, 21, and 42km. Runners conquered Hanoi's streets, including Quang Trung, Dien Bien Phu, Phan Dinh Phung, Quan Su, and others.
