Hanoi Medical University's projected admission scores top 28

Hanoi Medical University programs with admission scores above 28 in previous years are expected to remain stable, while others may decrease.

Associate Professor Doctor Le Dinh Tung, Vice President of Hanoi Medical University, made this prediction at the University Admissions Counseling Day organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper on the morning of 19/7.

Doctor Tung said that this year, Hanoi Medical University is admitting students based on 5 combinations of subjects: B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology), B08 (Math, Biology, English), C00 (Literature, History, Geography), D01 (Math, Literature, English), and A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry).

The C00 combination is exclusively used for the Psychology program, while B08 applies to Public Health. These two programs also consider B00 and D01 combinations. Some bachelor's programs use both A00 and B00 combinations. Four programs, Medicine, Traditional Medicine, Odonto-Stomatology, and Preventive Medicine, only consider the B00 combination.

According to Doctor Tung, programs in the higher score group, such as Medicine, which typically have admission scores above 28, will not fluctuate significantly. Programs in the lower score group may see a decrease, with steeper drops for those with lower admission scores last year.

On 16/7, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam. The average scores in the 5 traditional university admission subject combinations decreased by 0.8-2.1 points compared to 2024. The B00 combination (Math, Chemistry, Biology) saw the most significant drop, followed by A01 (Math, Physics, English - down 1.59 points), A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry - down 1.52 points), C00 (Literature, History, Geography - down 1.24 points), and D01 (Math, Literature, English - down 0.88 points).

Despite this, Doctor Tung encouraged students to remain calm, as "the chances of admission are still evenly distributed". On 21/7, the Ministry will announce the percentile ranks for the 5 traditional subject combinations, providing students with additional information to make informed decisions about their university applications.

This year, Hanoi Medical University is admitting 1,910 students through two methods: direct admission and admission based on high school graduation exam scores. In mid-July, the university announced a list of 272 students admitted directly, a 50% increase compared to last year. The majority of these students were admitted to the Medicine program.

List of 272 directly admitted students

For admission based on exam scores, applicants with English language certificates equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or higher will receive a bonus of 1 to 2 points. Students who won prizes in national academic competitions or science and technology competitions but did not use them for direct admission will also receive a bonus of 0.25-3 points. If a student has won multiple prizes, only the highest award will be considered.

Tuition fees for Hanoi Medical University for the 2025-2026 academic year range from 16.9 to 62.2 million VND. Compared to last year, this represents an increase of 1.9 to 10 million VND.

In 2024, the admission scores for Hanoi Medical University ranged from 19 to 28.83. The highest score was for the Psychology program in the C00 combination. Considering only the traditional B00 combination, the Medicine program led with 28.27 points. The lowest score of 19 applied to Medical Laboratory Technology and Rehabilitation Technology at the Thanh Hoa campus.
