Hanoi National University of Education announced on 13/1 that it expects to admit 6,065 students for 58 majors and programs this year. Among these are 8 new majors: education (education and communication), sports coaching, geography (resource and environmental geography), artificial intelligence, data science, chemistry (medicinal chemistry), international studies, and french language (applied french and international communication).
The three admission methods are similar to last year: selection of candidates with exceptional abilities and achievements, admission based on the SPT competency assessment test organized by the university, and admission based on high school graduation exam scores.
For candidates with exceptional abilities and achievements, the university divides them into three groups. The first group includes those with good academic and training scores for three years of high school, who also meet one of the following conditions: studying at schools affiliated with Hanoi National University of Education and TP HCM or specialized high schools, achieving a third prize in provincial/university-level excellent student competitions, or science and technology competitions.
The other two categories apply to majors such as music and fine arts education, or physical education and sports coaching. These candidates have achieved at least satisfactory academic results in high school and are among the top 5% highest scores in the university's aptitude test, or have high achievements in related fields (graduating with honors from gifted and arts schools, winning awards in art competitions or provincial-level sports competitions or higher, achieving class 1 athlete standards, or becoming a grandmaster).
For the SPT competency assessment test admission method, candidates must take at least three subjects in the SPT exam for score-based consideration according to subject combinations. These students must also have achieved a "good" academic performance in 12th grade or a high school graduation exam score of 8 or higher.
The SPT is organized by Hanoi National University of Education. This year, in addition to mathematics, literature, english, physics, chemistry, biology, history, and geography, the exam will include informatics, technology, and economic and legal education. Consequently, the university has adjusted many subject combinations, incorporating these new subjects, especially in directly related majors such as civic education, informatics education, and technology education.
For admission based on high school graduation exam scores, the university has not yet announced academic transcript requirements.
