Hanoi University of Pharmacy admissions standards fluctuations over the past three years

Admission standards at the Hanoi University of Pharmacy have ranged between 23 and 26 points over the past three years, with pharmacy and pharmaceutical chemistry being the most competitive, typically requiring over 25 points based on high school graduation exam scores.

From 2022 to 2024, these two programs generally saw a decrease in their admission standards. Meanwhile, the two newly launched programs, chemistry and biotechnology, experienced increases. The admission standard for chemistry rose from 22.95 points in 2022 to 24.55 last year, while biotechnology increased from 23.45 to 24.26.

The 2022, 2023, and 2024 admission standards for Hanoi University of Pharmacy are as follows:

No. Program/Program Group Admission Standards Based on High School Graduation Exam Scores
2022 2023 2024
1 Pharmacy 26 25 25.51
2 Pharmaceutical Chemistry 25.8 24.9 25.31
3 Chemistry 22.95 23.81 24.55
4 Biotechnology 23.45 24.21 24.26

In 2025, Hanoi University of Pharmacy will admit 940 students through four methods: direct admission; combined admission based on academic records and SAT scores; academic record assessment for specialized high school students or A-level certificates (British advanced level general education certificates); assessment of Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment test scores; and high school graduation exam scores.

This is the first time the university will use A-levels for admissions. In addition to the A00 combination (math, physics, chemistry), this year, Hanoi University of Pharmacy will also consider the B00 combination (math, chemistry, biology) for the pharmacy program, after approximately 30 years of discontinuation.

Tuition fees for the 2025-2026 academic year at Hanoi University of Pharmacy are expected to be between 17.1 and 27.6 million VND, with the highest being for the pharmacy program. This is followed by pharmaceutical chemistry at 24.4 million VND. The remaining two programs, biotechnology and chemistry, will cost 17.1 million VND.

Compared to last year, tuition fees have increased by 1.9 to 3.2 million VND, equivalent to 12-15%.
