According to the university's announcement on 15/9, all three phases will take place on weekends. Each phase will have three to four shifts at 30 testing locations, accommodating approximately 60,000 test-takers.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology stated that the test structure will remain the same as this year, with three sections: Mathematical Thinking (60 minutes), Reading Comprehension (30 minutes), and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving (60 minutes). The questions focus on assessing critical thinking abilities and do not directly test knowledge of any specific subject. The total score is 100.
The TSA is a computer-based test, and the results are valid for two years.

In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology also held three TSA testing phases at 30 locations across 11 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hung Yen, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Ninh Binh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, and Da Nang. More than 28,000 candidates participated, taking almost 57,000 tests.
The average score for all test-takers was 55.23/100. Vu Minh Duc, a 12th-grade student majoring in math at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, achieved the highest score of 98.61/100, setting a new record.
TSA results are used by over 50 universities for admissions. At Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the TSA score range for admission was 46.48 to 86.97, with the highest cutoff for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
