Professor, Doctor Vu Van Yem, Vice Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), announced this on 28/7, on the sidelines of the international conference of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S). This society is one of the reputable organizations in the field with a history of nearly 75 years.
Recently, HUST has attracted many leading global experts by hosting prestigious international conferences. For instance, at the aforementioned event, many leading figures in the industry participated, including Doctor Manfred Schindler, a candidate for global IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) president; Professor Chung-Tse Michael Wu (Taiwan, China), a renowned speaker known for breakthroughs in metamaterials; and Doctor Debabani Choudhury, who leads research at Intel Labs (USA).
Students get to hear professors present their research findings and professional experience, and have the opportunity to present their ideas for feedback and training in writing research proposals.
“This is an important professional activity that helps not only students but also young scientists connect, exchange, and collaborate with leading global experts,” Mr. Yem said.
Leaders at Hanoi University of Science and Technology stated that these networking sessions provide many students with opportunities to study and conduct research abroad before returning.
Mr. Hoang Dinh Hai Truyen, Director of the VTBR Equipment Research Center at Viettel High Technology Industries Corporation, believes that students gaining access to leading minds worldwide is very significant for fostering their passion, especially in niche specializations like microwave engineering.
According to him, job opportunities in this sector are substantial, but because it is a challenging field, engineers must learn for decades.
“Without sufficient perseverance and passion, one will not be able to succeed,” he said, adding that these workshops also provide networking opportunities for businesses.
