For the 2026 academic year, Hanoi University of Science plans to admit students through several methods: direct admission, high school graduation exam results, HSA competency assessment exam scores, international SAT certificates, and a combination of high school graduation exam scores with international certificates.
The university will also consider applications from students under special agreements, pre-university programs, and other groups as guided by Vietnam National University, Hanoi's admissions regulations.
Regarding admissions based on high school graduation exam scores, HUS will remove 11 previous combinations. These include B01 (mathematics, biology, history) and D09 (mathematics, history, English), along with other combinations that featured subjects such as economic and legal education, informatics, and agricultural and industrial technology.
Conversely, the university will introduce the C03 combination (mathematics, literature, history).

Hanoi University of Science projects annual tuition fees to range from 19.1 million to 40 million dong (based on a 10-month academic year). This represents an increase of approximately 2 million dong per year compared to current students, with the exact amount varying by major.
Last year, HUS admitted over 2,400 students across 28 majors and training programs. Cut-off scores ranged from 20.05 to 26, with Data Science having the highest score.
