According to an announcement on 21/3 from the High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi National University of Education, six specialized subjects—mathematics, informatics, physics, chemistry, literature, and English—will each admit 70 students. Only geography and biology will admit 35 students each. The top 10 students with the highest scores in each subject will receive scholarships.
Candidates must take four exams: mathematics, literature, English, and a specialized subject, over two days on 4/6 and 5/6. Candidates will take the specialized subject exam for the class they register for, except for informatics, which can be replaced by mathematics. To be eligible for admission, candidates must complete all four exams, with no subject scoring below 3.5/10 points.

The school applies three admission score calculation formulas, similar to last year. For the group taking specialized exams in mathematics, informatics, physics, chemistry, biology, and geography, the admission score is the sum of the general mathematics score plus the specialized subject score multiplied by a factor of two. General literature and English scores are only qualifying conditions and are not included in the admission score calculation.
For the group registering for the specialized literature class, the admission score is the sum of the general literature score and the specialized literature score multiplied by a factor of two. For students taking the specialized English exam, the admission score is the sum of the general English score and the specialized English score multiplied by a factor of two.
Candidates will not receive priority points and will be considered for each specialized class, ranked from highest to lowest. For the specialized geography class, the school plans to allocate 50% of the quota to students who specifically register for this class, with the remaining spots reserved for those who registered for other specialized classes but did not pass.
The exam fee is 700,000 VND. The projected tuition fee is 3.4 million VND per month, an increase of 200,000 VND.
