The 2025 high school graduation exams took place on 26/6 and 27/6 with approximately 1.1 million students participating. Students following the new general education program took two compulsory exams, math and literature, and chose two additional subjects from their curriculum. Nearly 353,000 students chose English.
The 50-minute English exam consisted of 40 multiple-choice questions. Upon leaving the exam room, many students complained that the English exam was difficult and lengthy, containing unfamiliar academic vocabulary beyond the high school level. Some students with an IELTS Reading score of 7.0 expressed a lack of confidence in the exam, expecting a score of around 7.
Teachers shared similar observations. Many questions were at the B2-C2 level, while the expected English proficiency for 12th-grade students is B1, equivalent to level 3/6.
Students have 10 days after receiving their high school graduation exam scores to submit a request for re-marking, with the deadline being 25/7.
Finding the right university and major
Starting 16/7, students can register, adjust, and add university application choices an unlimited number of times until 5 PM on 28/7. They can then submit application fees online from 29/7 to 5 PM on 5/8.
University admission scores for 2025 will be announced before 5 PM on 22/8.
