History, the most popular elective chosen by over 565,000 candidates, recorded an average score of 6,19 and a median of 6,1. Both figures represent a decrease of about 0,5 compared to last year. The score of 7 was the most frequently achieved mark. Over 2,400 candidates achieved a perfect score, an increase of about 900 from the previous year, while more than 145,000 candidates scored below 5.

The high school graduation exam took place on 11-12/6, involving over 1,2 million candidates nationwide. The Ministry of Education and Training also released the score distributions for all 12 subjects of the 2026 high school graduation exam. Candidates completed two compulsory subjects: Mathematics and Literature, along with two elective subjects chosen from Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Informatics, Technology (Agriculture or Industry), and Foreign Languages (available in seven different languages).
Starting 2/7, candidates can begin registering and adjusting their university and college admission preferences through the Ministry's online system. This process will continue until 5 PM on 14/7.
To review historical admission score trends by major and institution, candidates can access VnExpress's University Search page. University admission scores and candidates' pass-fail results will be announced after 5 PM on 9/8.
