On 9/1, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law announced that the online learning period will run from 19/1 to 5/3.
The students' Binh Ngo Tet holiday will last 30 days, from 31/1 to 1/3 (corresponding to the 13th day of the twelfth lunar month to the 13th day of the first lunar month). Consequently, students will engage in online learning for two weeks before and almost one week after the holiday.
According to the university, the shift to online learning helps students proactively arrange their travel plans during the peak holiday season, reduce transportation costs, and have more time to reunite and celebrate Tet with their families.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and Lac Hong University in Dong Nai are the two universities offering the longest Lunar New Year breaks for students. Lac Hong University previously announced that students from the 2024 cohort and earlier will have a 43-day Tet holiday, from 18/1 to 1/3. For the 2025 cohort, the holiday period is one week shorter, from 25/1-1/3.
Tet holiday schedule for students in TP HCM and Ha Noi
Most other students in Ha Noi and TP HCM will have a Binh Ngo Tet holiday lasting approximately 14-21 days. This schedule is longer than the national average of nine days, as universities have autonomy over their academic calendars.
