Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) announced its minimum admission scores, or "floor scores", on the morning of 13/7, making it among the last universities nationwide to do so.
For English language pedagogy, technology pedagogy, and law majors, the university requires a minimum score of 20. Other majors have a common floor score of 15. For the microchip design major, candidates must be in the top 20% for mathematics scores and the top 25% for combined admission scores nationwide.
This year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education plans to admit nearly 8,000 students, primarily through a combined admission method using a 30-point scale based on the following formula:
Admission score = academic performance score + bonus points + priority points
For the academic performance score, candidates can choose either their high school graduation exam scores, or a combination of these scores with academic transcripts and competency assessment results, opting for the most advantageous method. For architecture, interior architecture, fashion design, and graphic design majors, the academic performance score is combined with aptitude test scores.
Students who have won provincial or national awards, participated in Olympiads, international science and engineering competitions, or vocational skill contests can receive a maximum of 3 bonus points out of 30.
Last year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education admitted over 7,000 students. The cut-off scores ranged from 21,1 to 29,57, with English language pedagogy having the highest score.
