Hoa Sen University released employment and income survey data from over 1,400 new graduates at its graduation ceremony on 18/1. This marks the first time the university has disclosed such data. Of the over 1,200 individuals who provided information, 96% reported having employment before graduation, a 1% increase from last year.
Several programs boasted a 100% employment rate, including software engineering, international law, hotel management (Hoa Sen Elite program), psychology, and interior design.
Regarding income, 21% of new graduates surveyed reported monthly earnings below 9 million VND, while 45% earned between 9-12 million VND. Another 25% achieved incomes of 12-15 million VND, and 9% earned over 20 million VND.
Currently, few universities disclose new graduate income survey results. Recently, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) reported that most of its graduates earn starting salaries of 9 million VND or more. At Hanoi University of Industry, the average salary for this group is 10,8 million VND.
Analyzing employment structure, approximately 40-100% of students from software engineering, logistics and supply chain management, and hotel management programs secure positions in foreign-invested companies. About 20% of new graduates in international law, international business, economic law, digital art, restaurant and food service management, hotel management, business administration, and finance - banking opt for entrepreneurship.
At the graduation ceremony, Associate Professor Doctor Nguyen Huu Huy Nhut, the President, urged new graduates to prepare themselves for a dynamic world where technology changes daily. "What you learn today may need to be relearned, supplemented, or changed in just a few years," Associate Professor Doctor Nhut stated. "The important thing is not just the degree, but the capacity for lifelong learning, the courage to embrace change, and the ability to master oneself." According to him, success is not solely measured by income or job title. It is crucial for students to possess solid professional competence, a strong professional ethic, and a spirit of community service.
