International school with 1,1 billion VND tuition ordered to halt unlicensed enrollment

Shattuck-St. Mary's International School Vietnam – advertised to offer an American standard curriculum with tuition fees reaching 1,1 billion VND – has been ordered to cease enrollment due to operating without a license.

The Hung Dao Ward People's Committee on 14/1 issued a notice requiring Shattuck-St. Mary's International School Vietnam (residential group 1) to halt student enrollment and educational activities until it completes its required documentation.

Authorities stated that the school has not provided official decisions from competent authorities regarding its establishment and educational operations, despite having enrolled students since 8/2025.

To date, the school has enrolled 33 students, ranging from primary to high school levels, including both Vietnamese and foreign nationals.
