The Military Medical Academy announced on 30/1 its civilian admissions plan for 2026. The academy will recruit 200 students for medicine and 50 for pharmacy. Admission will be via three methods: direct admission and priority consideration; scores from the competency assessment exams of Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City National University; and high school graduation exam scores.
For its military program, the Military Medical Academy will also utilize these three methods, with an additional assessment from a competency exam organized by the Ministry of National Defense.
The Ministry of National Defense has not yet provided detailed information about this specific exam. However, at a conference summarizing admissions work yesterday afternoon, the Ministry outlined its policy to conduct a computer-based competency assessment exam starting this year.
The quota for the military program at the Military Medical Academy will be determined by the Ministry of National Defense. Applicants must be between 17 and 21 years old. Male candidates must be 1,63 m tall and weigh 50 kg or more. Female candidates must be 1,54 m tall and weigh 48 kg or more. All candidates must have myopia not exceeding 3 diopters and must undergo preliminary screening at their ward-level military command.
Military Medical Academy cut-off scores over the past three years
For both civilian and military programs, the Military Medical Academy considers three combinations for medicine: A00 (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), B00 (Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology), and D07 (Mathematics, Chemistry, English). The pharmacy program does not accept the B00 combination.
