Minimum entry requirements announced for eight police academies

The Ministry of Public Security has announced minimum entry requirements for eight police academies. Candidates must meet both the high school graduation exam score and the ministry's assessment test score requirements.

On 24/7, the Ministry of Public Security announced the minimum entry requirements for undergraduate and intermediate-level programs at police academies, based on a combination of high school graduation exam scores and the ministry's assessment test scores.

The minimum scores for the eight police academies are as follows:

No. Academy Minimum Score
1 People's Police Logistics - Technical University Medicine:

- 20.5/30 on the high school graduation exam

- 20/100 on the Ministry of Public Security assessment test

Other majors:

70 (combined score of three high school graduation exam subjects on a 100-point scale and the Ministry of Public Security assessment test score on a 100-point scale)

2 People's Security Academy 70 (combined score of three high school graduation exam subjects on a 100-point scale and the Ministry of Public Security assessment test score on a 100-point scale)
3 People's Police University
4 People's Police Political Academy
5 People's Security University
6 People's Police College
7 Fire Prevention and Fighting University
8 International Academy

The minimum score of 70 is calculated as follows: Minimum Score = (Total score of three graduation exam subjects) * 10/3 + Ministry assessment test score.

For intermediate-level programs, the minimum score based on the high school graduation exam is 10. This is the total score of three exam subjects without any weighting, bonus points, or failing grades (1 or below). Admission to these programs is independent of the undergraduate programs at the eight police academies.

Approximately 23,000 candidates took the Ministry of Public Security assessment test earlier this month, while the eight academies have a total of 2,350 places. The average competition ratio is nearly 10 to 1.

Candidates' admission scores are calculated as follows: Admission Score = (Total score of three graduation exam subjects) * 2/5 + (Assessment test score) * 3/5 + (Priority points as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training) + (Bonus points).

Last year, the highest admission score under this method was 25.52.

In addition to this combined method, the academies also use two other admission methods: direct admission for students who win national and international competitions, as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Security; and admission based on the Ministry of Public Security assessment test results combined with international language certificates.
