According to the Ministry of Education and Training's announcement on 8/7, physical education, music education, and fine arts education majors have a benchmark score of 19 for a three-subject cultural combination. The remaining majors have a benchmark score of 20, both one point higher than last year.
The admission threshold for early childhood education at the college level is 17, an increase of 0,5. This score includes priority points and is not multiplied by a coefficient.
This marks the 9th year the Ministry of Education and Training has implemented specific benchmark regulations for pedagogical majors. This initiative aims to ensure the quality of students in these fields, preventing situations where some institutions previously accepted scores as low as three points per subject.
Nevertheless, many pedagogical universities, including those in local areas, have set admission scores for certain majors significantly higher than the benchmark over the past one to two years. Popular majors include primary education, mathematics education, literature education, and history education.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, as of the end of the last academic year, the total number of preschool and general education teachers was nearly 1,28 million, with a shortage of over 104.500. This deficit is due to an increase in students, the shift to two-session school days, and the localized teacher surplus-shortage not being adjusted promptly, leading to slow recruitment.
