National Economics University (NEU) announced its 2027 admission guidelines on 26/6.
Specifically, the university plans to discontinue combined admissions that utilize international language certificates such as ielts, toefl iBT, and toeic with domestic competency assessment exams, including HSA (organized by Hanoi National University), V-ACT (Ho Chi Minh City National University), and TSA (Hanoi University of Science and Technology).
Instead, candidates will use competency assessment scores for independent admission. Language certificates can be converted to English subject scores within the admission combination or as bonus points. The minimum ielts threshold remains 5.5.
Beyond English, NEU will also accept other language certificates, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, and French.
Additionally, National Economics University will, for the first time, use results from Hanoi National University of Education’s (SPT) independent exam, alongside HSA, TSA, and V-ACT, for admission. For international competency exams, A-Level will be added to the existing SAT and ACT options.
National Economics University expects to announce its detailed 2027 admission scheme in December this year. Candidates will then learn specific minimum score levels and certificate conversion rates.

In recent years, National Economics University has maintained three consistent admission methods: direct admission, high school graduation exam scores, and combined admission.
Combined admission is the primary method, structured into three distinct groups. Group one is for candidates holding international certificates: SAT scores of 1200/1600 or ACT scores of 26/36 or higher.
Group two is for candidates with competency or thinking assessment exam results: a minimum of 85/150 for HSA, 700/1200 for APT, or 60/100 for TSA. These scores can be used independently or combined with international English certificates, such as ielts from 5.5 or toefl iBT 46 or higher.
Group three targets candidates with English certificates combined with high school graduation exam scores in Math and one other subject. The certificate requirements for this group are similar to group two.
NEU’s projected 2026 tuition fees are approximately 20-28 million VND for standard programs and 41-68 million VND for advanced, high-quality, application-oriented (POHE) programs.
