The Ministry of Education and Training announced the high school graduation exam scores for over 1,2 million candidates, along with the score distribution for subjects and university admission clusters, on the morning of 1/7.
Math is one of two compulsory subjects. Compared to last year, the national average score for candidates was 5,65, an increase of 0,87. Approximately 38% of candidates scored below 5, a decrease of 18%. Meanwhile, over 4.200 test papers achieved perfect scores, eight times more than last year.

The top 5 also included familiar names: Hanoi (6,164 points), Hai Phong (6,011), and Hung Yen (5,988).
Conversely, six provinces at the bottom all had average math scores below 5, including Lao Cai, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, and Son La. Son La had the lowest score with 4,245 points.
The 2026 high school graduation exam math score rankings for 34 provinces and cities are as follows:
After receiving their scores, candidates have five days to request a review if needed, with the deadline on 5/7. From 2/7, they can begin registering and adjusting their university and college admission preferences on the Ministry's system, lasting until 17h on 14/7.
