Over 15,300 perfect scores recorded in high school graduation exam

The number of perfect scores in the high school graduation exam increased by more than 4,400 compared to last year, with geography accounting for nearly half.

The Ministry of Education and Training released the score distribution for the 2025 high school graduation exam on the afternoon of 15/7. Across 12 subjects in the exam, based on the 2018 national curriculum, there were over 15,300 perfect scores.

Geography had the highest number of perfect scores, with over 6,900. Literature had none. Physics saw a significant increase in perfect scores, rising from 55 last year to nearly 3,930 this year.

In 2024, there were nearly 10,900 perfect scores nationwide. Math was the only subject without any perfect scores.

The high school graduation exam took place on 26/6 and 27/6, with over 1.16 million students participating. Nearly 1.14 million students took the exam based on the new 2018 curriculum, while over 26,700 followed the older 2006 curriculum.

Students following the new curriculum were tested on two compulsory subjects: literature and math. They also chose two subjects from the following: chemistry, physics, biology, history, geography, economics and law, IT, agricultural technology, industrial technology, and foreign languages (7 languages).

Exam scores will be released at 8 a.m. on 16/7. Students can check their scores on VnExpress at: https://diemthi.vnexpress.net.

The registration period for university admissions, including adjustments and additions, is from 16/7 to 5 p.m. on 28/7, with no limit on the number of adjustments. Students can pay the application fee online from 29/7 to 5 p.m. on 5/8.

For information about universities before applying, students can visit the VnExpress University Search page to see the fluctuation of benchmark scores over the years by major, university, and tuition fees. The system also suggests majors and universities that had benchmark scores close to the student's scores in each subject combination from last year.

University benchmark scores will be announced before 5 p.m. on 22/8.
