Lieutenant Colonel Trieu Thanh Dat, a senior specialist at the Ministry of Public Security's Training Department, announced this information on the evening of 5/7. This is the highest number of applicants among the eight police academies recruiting this year.
With only 100 spots available, the academy has the highest competition rate. Excluding candidates directly admitted, the competition ratio is approximately 1/80. While previous years' figures were not released, the Training Department representative stated that the People's Police Academy of Politics consistently has the highest competition. The academy is the only institution offering the Party and State Building program.
Due to the high number of applicants, the People's Police Academy of Politics held entrance exams at 10 locations on 5/7 and 6/7. Five locations in the north served candidates from Hue City northward, while the remaining five in the south served candidates from Da Nang City southward.

The Ministry of Public Security's entrance exam was first held in 2022 with 9,000 candidates. Since then, the exam's scale has grown, reaching 18,000 candidates last year and a record 23,000 this year. Meanwhile, the total number of available spots remains steady at 2,000-2,350.
The 150-minute exam consists of three sections. The compulsory essay section includes a social commentary essay worth 25 points. The compulsory multiple-choice section includes 35 math questions (35 points), 10 history questions (10 points), and 20 foreign language questions (15 points). The optional multiple-choice section has 15 questions (15 points), with candidates choosing one subject from physics, chemistry, biology, or geography.
At the People's Police Academy of Politics, over 7,800 candidates chose geography for the optional section.
The exam score is then converted to a 30-point scale and combined with the high school graduation exam scores from three subjects in a chosen combination, or with an international language certificate.
The admission score calculation is as follows:
Admission Score = (Total score of three graduation exam subjects * 2/5) + (Entrance Exam Score * 3/5) + (Priority Points as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training) + (Bonus Points).
Last year, the standard admission score for the People's Police Academy of Politics, combining the entrance exam and high school graduation exam scores, ranged from 19.97 to 25.52, depending on the region, gender, and chosen exam subjects. The score of 25.52 was the highest among all eight police academies.

In addition to the combined score method, the academies also offer direct admission to students who win national and international competitions, as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Security. Direct admission is also based on the Ministry of Public Security's entrance exam combined with an international language certificate.
