Pho thong Nang khieu has published model exam questions and answer keys for the upcoming 10th grade entrance exam. These resources are designed to help prospective students prepare for the rigorous selection process.
The model exams include the following subjects:
| Literature (non-specialized) | Literature (specialized) |
| English (non-specialized) | English (specialized) |
| Mathematics (non-specialized) | Mathematics (specialized) |
| Physics | Chemistry |
| Informatics | Biology |
The 10th grade entrance exam at Pho thong Nang khieu is scheduled for 23-24/5, with the goal of selecting 595 students. Candidates must take at least four subjects: Mathematics, Literature, English, and a specialized subject. Students may opt to take a maximum of two specialized subjects, provided there are no scheduling conflicts.
The non-specialized subjects have time limits of 120, 100, and 60 minutes respectively, each comprising both essay and multiple-choice sections. Specialized subject exams are essay-only, lasting 150 minutes, with the exception of English.
Admission to 10th grade is based on the total score from four exams, with the specialized subject score weighted by a coefficient of two. A crucial requirement is that no individual exam score can be below 2 points. For specialized classes that admit students based on two subject combinations, the school will determine the admission scores for each group based on exam results and the number of applications received.
Candidates can register for the entrance exam on the school's website from 4 to 10/5. The examination fee is 150,000 dong per subject, and each application preference costs 50,000 dong.

Established in 1996, Pho thong Nang khieu is the only school in TP HCM to conduct its own independent entrance exam, separate from the 10th grade exam organized by the Department of Education and Training. This distinct admission process underscores its focus on identifying and nurturing gifted students.
Last year, the specialized Mathematics class recorded the highest benchmark score at 33.75 points, while other specialized classes saw benchmark scores ranging from 24.4 to 33 points.
