Record-high applications for Banking Academy

Banking Academy has seen a record influx of applicants, with nearly 54,000 candidates submitting around 124,500 applications for the upcoming academic year. This represents a 50% increase compared to last year, marking the highest number in the institution's history.

The Banking Academy (BAV) announced these figures on 30/7. Preliminary statistics from several economic universities in the northern region indicate that BAV received the largest volume of applications.

The applicant pool of nearly 54,000 includes over 4,100 students from specialized high schools, 20 national award winners, and more than 2,800 provincial-level award recipients. Over 15,400 candidates applied using competency assessment scores, while nearly 20,400 presented international foreign language certificates, an increase of about 7,000 from last year.

Associate Professor, Doctor Bui Huu Toan, Director of the Banking Academy, emphasized the significance of these numbers. "All these figures are the highest ever", he stated. "This strong growth reflects the keen interest from candidates".

Nearly 50% of applicants listed Banking Academy among their top five preferred choices. This year, the academy plans to admit nearly 4,700 students, resulting in an average admission ratio of over 1:11 across the institution. The competition ratio varies by major, but the academy noted that applications are well-distributed across both traditional and new programs.

For the 2026 academic year, the academy employs four admission methods: direct admission, combined admission based on high school transcripts with international certificates or competency assessment test scores, admission solely based on high school transcripts, and admission based on high school graduation exam scores.

Projected tuition fees for the next academic year are 27.8-29.4 million VND for standard programs, 45 million VND for high-quality programs, and 80 million VND for international joint programs.
