The agreement was signed on 23/9 in New York. Standard Chartered will structure and arrange financial packages. The mobilized capital is expected to be disbursed through EQuest Capital for investment in EQuest's education projects.
Ho Chi Minh City is a key location for this initiative. The capital will be allocated across various project groups, focusing on technology fields such as: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, robotics, semiconductors, industrial system engineering, nursing, and healthcare.
EQuest also plans to expand training cooperation with international universities and institutes in Asia and the US. This includes developing an international school system, expanding private general education, and investing in education technology (EdTech) platforms.
The organization stated that the agreement aims to expand access to long-term capital for infrastructure investment, curriculum development, and improving education quality in Vietnam.
Richard Dean McClellan, Chief Executive Officer of the Vietnam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCMC), noted that this cooperation agreement highlights the center's role in connecting international financial institutions with long-term investment projects in Vietnam. Global financial resources can help expand the participation of Vietnamese education businesses in international financial and cooperation networks.
