On 7/7, the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense announced score conversion tables for various admission methods to military schools. These tables convert scores from the Ministry of National Defense's QDA competency assessment exam, Vietnam National University, Hanoi's HSA, and Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City's V-ACT exams into equivalent high school graduation exam scores.
Five subject combinations are included in the conversion: A00 (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Mathematics, Physics, English), B00 (Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology), C01 (Literature, Mathematics, Physics), and D01 (Mathematics, Literature, English).
The score conversion table for the QDA competency assessment exam (on a 150-point scale) and high school graduation exam scores is as follows:

In addition to the five combinations mentioned, military schools also utilize other combinations: C02 (Mathematics, Chemistry, Literature), C03 (Literature, Mathematics, History), C04 (Literature, Mathematics, Geography), and D07 (Mathematics, Chemistry, English). The deviations between these combinations are as follows:

Previously, the Military Admissions Board announced minimum admission thresholds for 22 military schools, ranging from 17 to 25 points. The highest threshold across all schools is 25 points at the Military Science Academy, applicable to female candidates. For the Military Medical Academy, the minimum threshold will follow the quality assurance standards for health sciences, as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Military school minimum admission thresholds 2026
This year, 23 military schools are recruiting 5,420 university students, an increase of over 1,000 from last year and the highest number in the past 5 years. 72 candidates have already gained direct admission to these schools.
Last year, the highest cut-off score for military schools was 30 points, applied to female candidates applying for International Relations at the Military Science Academy and Medicine at the Military Medical Academy.
Additionally, 15 institutions under the Ministry of National Defense are recruiting over 3,880 civilian students, ranging from bachelor's to doctoral levels.
