The national high school graduation exam, held on 11-12/6, saw a record participation of over 1,2 million candidates. This year's Literature exam maintained its two-part structure: Reading Comprehension (4 points) and Writing (6 points). The paper included several current affairs topics, such as the application of artificial intelligence and the question of "how to foster Vietnamese Steve Jobs?"
Teachers evaluated the exam paper as having a stable structure, but noted that students found it difficult to achieve high scores, especially on the question about Steve Jobs. Educators predicted the Literature score distribution would predominantly fall between 6,5 and 7,75 points.
Last year, the average Literature score for over 1,12 million candidates in the national high school graduation exam was 7, with no perfect scores recorded.
After receiving their 2026 national high school graduation exam scores, candidates have 5 days to register for a score review if desired, with the deadline set for 5/7.
Starting 2/7, candidates can begin registering and adjusting their university and college admission preferences through the Ministry of Education and Training's system, a process that will continue until 17h on 14/7. University admission cut-off scores and candidate pass/fail results will be announced by institutions after 17h on 9/8.
