Following the announcement of first-round admission scores on 22/8 and 23/8, numerous universities facing enrollment shortfalls have opened additional admissions.
Three member universities of Vietnam National University, Hanoi – International University, University of Business and Administration, and Vietnam Japan University – are each recruiting approximately 300 additional students. Applications based on high school graduation exam scores require a minimum of 19, while those using competency assessment scores need 66. Specific requirements vary by program.

FPT University is also offering 950 additional spots across various programs, with each program accepting 30 or 50 students. Applicants using high school graduation exam scores must achieve a minimum of 18.5, calculated as the total score of math and any two other subjects, plus any bonus points. For those using competency assessment scores, the minimum is 78/150 for the Vietnam National University, Hanoi exam and 653/1200 for the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City exam.

In the south, Nha Trang University is offering over 600 additional places in 23 programs, accepting applications based on high school graduation exam scores and competency assessment scores from both Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The minimum score for high school graduation exam applicants is 20, with the highest requirement of 24 for finance-banking and business administration. In addition to the minimum score, applicants for programs like accounting and Vietnamese-Japanese information technology must have a minimum average grade of 5 in English on their academic transcripts.
The additional admission application period at Nha Trang University runs until 5/9, with successful candidates starting classes three days later.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University is offering additional admissions for all 73 of its programs, including healthcare fields such as medicine, odontology, traditional medicine, pharmacy, preventive medicine, nursing, medical laboratory technology, and rehabilitation.
The minimum score for applications is the same as the first round, starting from 15. The university has not specified the quota or deadline for this additional admission round.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry is offering additional admissions for three programs: seafood processing technology, materials technology, and a joint business administration program. They accept applications through four methods, with minimum high school graduation exam scores of 16 or 17, depending on the specific program.

The Vietnam Aviation Academy is also recruiting 470 students for various programs, with most requiring a minimum score of 18. In addition to meeting the score requirements for each admission method, applicants for the English language program must also meet one of two additional criteria: a minimum score of 6 on the English section of the high school graduation exam or an IELTS score of 4.5. The deadline for additional applications is 5 PM on 28/8.

Nearly 850,000 students applied for university admission this year, submitting a total of approximately 7.6 million applications. On average, each student submitted nearly 9 applications, a significant increase compared to previous years.
Successful applicants must confirm their enrollment on the Ministry of Education and Training's system by 30/8.
Universities that have not filled their quotas can conduct additional admissions from 1/9 to December 2025. Students who have already confirmed their enrollment at another university are not eligible for additional admissions unless they receive permission from the rector to withdraw.
