Twin sisters Nguyen Thi Lan Huong and Nguyen Thi Thuy Huong, 18, from the outskirts of Hanoi, both entered the military medical program at the Military Medical Academy on 8/9.
This year, the academy admitted 182 students, 14 of whom achieved perfect 30/30 entrance exam scores.
Huong applied with her national high school graduation exam scores: a 9 in math, 10 in physics, and 10 in chemistry. Her score was boosted by bonus points from her second-place award in the Hanoi math competition for students. Huong's sister, Thuy Huong, applied with her Hanoi National University Assessment Test (HSA) score. With a 119/150 HSA score and a second-place award in the Hanoi city chemistry competition for students, her score was converted to the 30-point scale, also achieving a perfect score.
The Military Medical Academy stated this is the first time in its history that twins have been admitted with perfect scores. The twins' older brother, Nguyen Doan Bieu, is a fifth-year medical student at the academy.
"We are happy to both enter the Military Medical Academy", Huong said.

Huong and Huong are alumni of Quoc Oai High School in Hanoi. Since entering high school, both had set their sights on the Military Medical Academy for their university education.
"The image of our brother in uniform, his interesting stories about daily life, discipline, and studies at the academy inspired our love for this school", Huong explained.
With their goal in mind, the twins developed a study plan, allocating time equally among the three subjects in the A00 combination (math, physics, and chemistry), focusing on practice tests and developing critical thinking skills.
"We maintained discipline and persistence, studying daily instead of cramming, while also keeping a relaxed mindset", Huong said.
To prepare for the military environment, both sisters emphasized regular exercise and a disciplined lifestyle. They are therefore confident as they begin their intensive military and political training before starting their six years of specialized medical studies.
Their father, Nguyen Doan Hung, expressed his excitement as he accompanied his daughters for enrollment.
"Having three children studying at the Military Medical Academy is a source of pride for the whole family", he shared. "I believe my children will receive the best training in this environment."
In addition to Huong, Huong, and their older brother at the Military Medical Academy, Mr. Hung's second daughter currently studies at Thai Nguyen University of Education.

Huong acknowledged that their journey at the Military Medical Academy will be challenging, not only academically but also in terms of military conduct and discipline. However, both are prepared to adapt.
"We hope to become skilled military doctors with strong character, ready to serve our country", Huong stated.
