At TAS, kindness serves as a core foundation for shaping student character. This value is integrated throughout the curriculum, classroom organization, and daily interactions among teachers, students, and parents.
"When education extends beyond academic achievement, developing student character and life values becomes a priority," a TAS representative stated.

The school also focuses on creating a safe learning environment that respects differences and encourages students to express themselves.
"We believe education is more than just imparting knowledge. A truly good learning environment is where students are heard, respected, and learn to live kindly with themselves and their surrounding community," added Van Xuan Thien, CEO of TAS International School.
Beyond regular classes, the school offers daily advisory sessions after school. These sessions provide a space for students to share their thoughts, feelings, and academic or school-life challenges, receiving timely support and guidance from the advisory team. Additionally, the school board actively supports and listens to student voices. Appropriate ideas and suggestions are acknowledged and gradually transformed into practical activities.

Regarding its educational pathway, TAS integrates the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Primary students with the US-standard Common Core curriculum and Advanced Placement (AP) subjects for Secondary students. This curriculum not only emphasizes academic knowledge but also promotes critical thinking, leadership skills, and adaptability, which are vital competencies for the 21st century.
Building on this foundation, the school designs its curriculum around practical experiential activities, enabling students to test their abilities and apply knowledge to real-life situations. Beyond classroom learning, the school encourages students to proactively propose and implement projects. As a result, many students have initiated community projects in various forms, from fundraising and supporting residents in the central region of Vietnam during disasters to engaging in charity work for those in difficult circumstances.
During a disaster in the central region, representatives from the TAS Student Council proposed an idea to organize fundraising and participate in relief efforts. This proposal was heard by the school board, which provided guidance to ensure systematic, safe, and effective implementation. Additionally, in the days leading up to Tet, students spread the spirit of sharing through charity activities at a pagoda. TAS students visited, chatted, played, and decorated for Tet with younger children, contributing to a warm spring atmosphere. From these experiences, students learn how to act for the community, understanding that voices driven by responsibility and compassion can create positive, sustainable values.
These activities are implemented alongside the academic curriculum, enabling students to actively participate in and lead initiatives. Through this process, a spirit of leadership gradually forms, while community-oriented projects also help nurture values of kindness throughout the students' growth journey.
These activities not only help students develop leadership skills but also cultivate empathy and a sense of social responsibility, according to Van Xuan Thien. "We believe that when students experience and understand the value of sharing, they will naturally develop a spirit of kindness, making it an integral part of how they live and act every day."
