English teacher "alters" student first semester exams

A female English teacher at Nguyen Van Cu Primary School has been recommended for review after allegedly altering first semester exam papers, which many parents claim changed the results.

On 25/1, the Quy Nhon Nam Ward Culture - Social Affairs Department announced that an investigation into relevant documents confirmed the teacher had altered first semester exam papers for some students. This action violates legal and educational sector regulations.

The department has requested the principal of Nguyen Van Cu Primary School to organize a review to clarify the teacher's motives, the nature, and the extent of her violations.

Previously, 14 parents reported signs of tampering in their children's English exam papers, including added strokes and words in answers, which changed the test results. The school suspended the teacher from teaching duties pending verification.

For the 2025-2026 academic year, Nguyen Van Cu Primary School has over 2,200 students across 52 classes, making it one of the largest schools in Gia Lai province by student population.
