This information was announced by the Ministry of Education and Training at the university admissions information conference on the morning of 20/4.
Among more than 681,000 university enrollees, over 146,000 students selected the business and management major group, representing 21% of the total. This field is widely offered by many universities, with popular majors including business administration, finance - banking, accounting - auditing, and marketing. However, compared to 2024, the selection rate for this major group saw a 4% decrease.
Following business and management is the engineering technology group, attracting over 72,500 enrollees, which accounts for 10,6% of the total and marks an increase of over 1%. The Ministry noted a positive trend in strategic technology fields, with 44 majors within this group successfully admitting 150,400 students, making up 22% of all admissions.
Three other major groups that attracted a large number of applicants were: humanities (9,6%), computer science and information technology (9,2%), and health (7,8%).
Last year, universities admitted nearly 760,000 students, with approximately 90% enrolling. This means that among 1,1 million high school graduates, the university admission rate was 59%.
The three most common admission methods for successful candidates were: high school graduation exam scores (50%), academic transcripts (29%), and combined assessment (15%).
