The course is part of the Global Consumer Intelligence (GCI) program, launched on the evening of 17/9, organized by HUST in collaboration with Professor Yutaka Matsuo and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Professor Yutaka Matsuo is one of the world's leading experts in artificial intelligence. He teaches at the University of Tokyo, Japan's top university and 28th in the world, according to Times Higher Education. He is also Chairman of the Prime Minister's AI Strategy Council and founder of the Japan Deep Learning Association.
Professor Matsuo has published over 20 books and 300 international research papers, and serves as a strategic advisor for several major technology corporations.

Designed by Professor Matsuo's research lab, the 14-session course covers Python, data science, machine learning, and practical AI applications in various fields.
Students will learn theory through pre-recorded videos and practice online with University of Tokyo lecturers. The first session at HUST will be taught in person by Professor Matsuo.
Professor Matsuo explained that the program not only provides foundational AI knowledge but also teaches students how to analyze real-world data to develop strategic business proposals.
"We want to connect technological skills with the creation of socio-economic value," he said.
Joining the 1,500 HUST students are over 6,000 students from 430 educational institutions worldwide. Upon completion, students will receive certificates from both the University of Tokyo and HUST. Select outstanding students will have the opportunity to intern at the Matsuo Lab, sponsored by Japan.
Professor Vu Van Yem, Vice President of HUST, considers this a rare opportunity for HUST students to learn from leading global experts.
"I hope you will make the most of this opportunity, approach each lecture with curiosity, ask challenging questions, and dare to step outside your comfort zones," Professor Yem said. "Think about how to apply the knowledge you gain to solve real-world challenges in Vietnam and globally."
