On the afternoon of 24/8, the USSH, Vietnam national university, Hanoi, announced additional admission criteria for those who applied through the high school graduation exam scores and the HSA assessment score methods.
For example, the journalism program has a standard admission score of 28.2, with the added criterion that the applicant must have ranked the program as their 4th choice or higher. Even if meeting the standard score, applicants who ranked journalism lower than 4th will not be admitted.
The university explained that this additional criterion is being clarified now because it was not announced with the initial scores due to time constraints.
The additional criteria for admission to the USSH are as follows:

Previously, the university encountered an issue with an "incorrect subject name" in the D66 combination. Initial announcements listed the combination as math, literature, and economic and legal education (a new subject under the 2018 national curriculum). However, when scores were released, D66 consisted of math, literature, and civic education (an older subject from the 2006 curriculum). Consequently, many applicants with sufficient scores were not admitted.
This afternoon, the university stated that it is seeking guidance from the ministry of education and training on how to resolve the issue. Applicants are instructed to submit their information before 5 pm on 26/8 for assistance.
