The Ministry of Education and Training announced on the evening of 8/8 that all Vietnamese students who competed individually won prizes. The results are as follows:
: Three gold medals: Nguyen Viet Trung Nhan, 10th grade; Nguyen Huu Tuan, 11th grade, both from the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; and Nguyen Phu Nhan, 11th grade, from Le Quy Don High School for Gifted Students, Da Nang.
One silver medal: Nguyen Nhat Minh, 10th grade, from the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences.
Three bronze medals: Nguyen Khac Trung Kien and Bui Dam Quan, both 12th graders from the High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi National University of Education; and Hoang Cong Bao Long, 11th grade, from Le Quy Don High School for Gifted Students, Da Nang.
One consolation prize: Bui Quang Nguyen, 12th grade, from the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences.
In the team competition, Vietnam's second team, consisting of Trung Kien, Bao Long, Phu Nhan, and Dam Quan, scored 198.4 points, placing 4th behind Poland, Russia, and Hungary.
Overall, Vietnam ranked 4th in the 2025 IOAI. Last year, the organizers only ranked the practical portion of the competition. Vietnam won one silver medal and one bronze medal, ranking 6th out of 33 participating countries.

The 2025 IOAI was held in Beijing, China, from 2/8 to 8/8. The competition is for high school students and aims to identify and nurture young talent in the field of artificial intelligence. Approximately 300 contestants from 60 countries and territories participated in IOAI 2025, almost double the number of participants last year.
This is the second time Vietnam has participated in this competition.
