To create a safe learning environment for children aged 2 to 18 with special educational needs, the facilities are an integral part of an evidence-based intervention system. Every detail plays an essential role in caring for and supporting students facing cognitive, behavioral, and learning barriers.
From above, Vin Nexus Center is designed in the shape of a heart, symbolizing empathy and compassion, the core values the school upholds. A representative from Vin Nexus Center stated that each space is designed to respect differences, reduce unnecessary pressure, and allow children to develop at their own pace. With a scientific and interdisciplinary approach, the center aims to be a "connection hub" where children with special educational needs receive proper support in an empathetic and professional environment.

Inside, learning and play areas are clearly zoned, with predictable movement flows. The image shows the quiet garden/calm zone, designed as an outdoor emotional regulation tool, using greenery, natural materials, and secluded seating areas as "safe anchors" to support students experiencing anxiety or sensory overload.

Conversely, the physical activity zone is important for some students with high movement needs. This space helps children safely release excess energy, supports self-regulation of emotions, and reduces the risk of impulsive behaviors.

The greenhouse and experimental garden serve as experiential therapy spaces. Activities such as planting, caring for, and harvesting can develop children's planning and executive functioning skills, while also providing a natural setting for small-group language and communication therapy.

Classrooms are flexibly designed, convertible from common areas to personalized spaces based on individual student support needs.

Quiet rooms help students self-regulate emotions, preventing overload from sounds or crowded areas.

Sensory regulation rooms help students adjust sensory stimulation levels to their individual needs, thereby stabilizing emotions and increasing behavioral control.

The hydrotherapy pool maintains a stable temperature of 33-36°C, combining massage jets and the buoyancy and resistance properties of water to support movement and sensory regulation.

The school provides private, visually minimalist 1:1 and small-group intervention rooms to help students feel secure and focus on therapy.

Simulated apartments help students practice daily self-care routines and essential self-service skills in a real-life context. This gradually fosters their ability to live independently, preparing them for future autonomous living.

The practical vocational training complex, including a mini-supermarket and a simulated cafe, helps students develop basic vocational skills in the service sector, such as bartending, serving, and operating a counter. This prepares them for suitable future employment.

Finally, the craft workshop is a versatile space, serving both STEM and art subjects, and providing a practical environment for handicraft skills. Students will learn through hands-on practice, gradually developing operational skills, confidence, and the joy of work, all within a safe and supportive setting.
Vin Nexus Center stands out in Vietnam as a pioneering model that simultaneously applies international design standards to enhance student health, safety, and learning engagement. The school implements the WELL Building Standard, developed by the International WELL Building Institute (US). This framework is widely used in educational facilities, hospitals, and workplaces globally to optimize air quality, lighting, acoustics, and safety. Additionally, Vin Nexus Center utilizes the ASPECTSS design framework by British architect Magda Mostafa, specifically tailored for individuals with special educational needs.
Vin Nexus Center is a non-profit educational model invested in and developed by Vingroup Corporation. It caters to children aged 2 to 18 (including international students) with special educational and developmental needs, including: intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, specific learning disorders, language-communication disorders, and behavioral-emotional disorders. The center is expected to open and welcome its first students in September.
