Beyond faculty and student exchange, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM) and the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) have agreed to develop high-quality training programs, particularly at the postgraduate level, alongside academic exchange and online cooperation.
In research, the hai institutions will launch joint projects, organize scientific conferences and workshops, and enhance the capabilities of faculty members in the hai primary fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI).

Doctor Huynh Phu Minh Cuong, Deputy Head of Science and Technology Department at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, stated that the signing of this cooperation agreement with IIT Roorkee reflects the university's commitment to its international integration strategy and development towards research and innovation. The combination of the hai sides' strengths in training and research is expected to create practical products and values.
For the 2025-2030 period, VNUHCM aims to train 3,600 engineers and 1,200 postgraduate students in the semiconductor sector. This initiative focuses on microchip design and semiconductor technology, with the goal of mastering advanced technologies such as AI chips, 6G/7G, and photonics by 2050.
In the field of AI, VNUHCM strives to train over 10,000 students, establish ba centers of excellence, and foster over 100 startups, aspiring to become a leading AI hub in Southeast Asia.
Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City was established in 1995. It comprises tam member universities and educates over 100,000 students, making it the largest in the country. According to the QS 2026 university rankings, this educational institution is among the 801-850 group globally.
