On 14/9, the artist's management company announced her obituary, stating Yuri Nakamura passed away on 1/9 after battling her illness. Her family held a private funeral and laid her to rest.

Previously, she kept her health condition private. 13 years ago, upon receiving her cancer diagnosis, she requested her management not to reveal the news to avoid worrying colleagues. The actress paused her work to focus on treatment. When her health stabilized, Yuri Nakamura returned to acting and attending events.

In recent years, Yuri Nakamura underwent regular health check-ups. In January last year, the cancer recurred, and she was hospitalized for surgery, but the cancer cells later metastasized. In July, Yuri Nakamura canceled plans to film the NHK television drama "Dangerous" due to poor health.

Her representative stated that in August, Yuri Nakamura was in critical condition, but as in earlier days, the actress remained calm. "She smiled gently, spending her final days with her family," her manager said.

Yuri Nakamura held Korean nationality (her mother was Korean), living and working in Japan. She entered the entertainment industry in 1996 after a talent search competition. The actress starred in nearly 100 film and television works, notably: "Love Letter from Heaven", "Pacchigi! Love & Peace", "Good Doctor", "Like Father, Like Son", "Fukushima 50", and "Beyond Goodbye".
