Khoai Lang Thang named ambassador for 'Live Vibrantly' campaign

Khoai Lang Thang becomes ambassador for the "Live Vibrantly" contest, joining creators to share inspiring stories about Vietnamese people, lands, and values.

The "Live Vibrantly" contest, a key event within the Vietnam iContent 2026 Digital Content Creation Festival, has appointed Khoai Lang Thang as its ambassador. He will help disseminate the program's message, encourage the creative community to participate, and serve on the final judging panel.

The "Live Vibrantly" contest aims to discover, honor, and share stories of individuals, places, and positive values that contribute to the nation's development. It encourages diverse perspectives, authentic narratives, and creative expression, avoiding a fixed definition of "Live Vibrantly."

Participants can submit works exploring inspiring individuals, good deeds, initiatives benefiting society, cultural beauty, national identity, stories of overcoming hardship, entrepreneurship, aspirations for contribution, or fresh perspectives on Vietnam and its people. The contest features three categories: video, photo, and article.

In his ambassadorial role, Khoai Lang Thang will engage in the campaign's communication activities, share personal stories and experiences, appear in key visual products, interact on social media, and encourage community participation. He will also join the final judging panel, evaluating the top 45 submissions based on the organizers' professional criteria.

Khoai Lang Thang's selection is tied to his "vibrant journey" of nearly a decade creating content focused on travel, culture, and cuisine. Transitioning from a civil engineer, he began creating content in 2017, choosing to document his travels, encounters, and real-life experiences through his unique lens.

Khoai Lang Thang stated that changing careers was a life-altering decision. The knowledge and skills he gained as a civil engineer provided a foundation, helping him approach equipment, software, and logical thinking in his content creation process.

Throughout this journey, he developed his own concept of "Live Vibrantly." According to Khoai Lang Thang, vibrancy does not necessarily equate to glory or fame; it can begin with living authentically, pursuing what one loves, and caring for loved ones.

"Living vibrantly doesn't mean being literally vibrant," the vlogger affirmed. "Sometimes, being yourself, doing what you like, and helping your loved ones, living authentically – that can also be living vibrantly."

This perspective was a key reason Khoai Lang Thang accepted the invitation to join the campaign. He admitted to being surprised and slightly apprehensive when offered the role, as the concept of "Live Vibrantly" holds many layers of meaning. He views his ambassadorial role as an opportunity to share his unique perspective on the phrase with his audience.

As a member of the final judging panel, Khoai Lang Thang plans to prioritize the story and emotions a work evokes in viewers. He believes that while camera angles, lighting, visuals, and color are important, the narrative and emotional impact are crucial for content success.

He encourages contestants to start with readily available equipment and focus on the story they wish to tell. "Pick up your everyday phone and tell your own story," he advised. "Don't wait until you have a professional camera to start telling it."

According to the "Live Vibrantly" ambassador, valuable stories often stem from authenticity and a personal touch. After years of traveling through various regions and meeting people from diverse backgrounds and professions, his worldview has become more open, making him more receptive to new and different ideas.

"Over many years, I've been fortunate to travel everywhere, meet many people, and see many beautiful sights in Vietnam," he added. "It's a pity that Vietnam has so many beautiful stories that haven't yet been told to an audience."

Drawing from these experiences, Khoai Lang Thang hopes his ambassadorial role will create more opportunities for the community to collectively share stories about Vietnamese people, landscapes, and regions.

Khoai Lang Thang was honored as "Content Creator of the Year" at Vietnam iContent for two consecutive years, in 2024 and 2025. He shared that these awards represent significant recognition and trust from the community, motivating him to achieve even more in his creative journey.

Transitioning from an award recipient at Vietnam iContent 2025 to the "Live Vibrantly" ambassador, Khoai Lang Thang sees this as an opportunity to connect with other content creators and share his insights with the younger generation.

Submissions for the "Live Vibrantly" contest will be accepted from 12:00 on 18/9 until 12:00 on 31/10. The preliminary round will run from 2/11 to 16/11, with the finals scheduled from 20/11 to 4/12. The award ceremony is expected to take place on 11/12 as part of Vietnam iContent 2026.
