According to People, Zahara delivered a speech while attending a mother-daughter luncheon hosted by the Pearls of Purpose Foundation in Atlanta, US, on 26/4. On stage, Zahara stated that when asked to speak about the value of motherhood, she struggled to find the right words to describe her relationship with her mother, which she called 'unique, almost telepathic'.
"The bond between my mother and me is a unique kind of love," Zahara stated. "I was adopted at six months old, living with special, loving people like my siblings, and with my mother, who raised us on the values of helping others, living kindly, and always striving to grow." She added that while her mother's lessons seemed simple, she was grateful that her mother provided a proper role model for her children to emulate in "a world where kindness is often overlooked and helping others comes at a price."

Zahara also believed that other girls at the event understood the feeling of seeing their mothers as 'superheroes'. She said she had spent her life trying to understand how her mother did it, describing Angelina Jolie as the "most selfless, loving, and understanding woman" she has the privilege to call mother.
According to the actress's daughter, her life underwent a significant change upon becoming a college student. Zahara is currently in her final year at Spelman College, where she is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority and vice president of its Mu Pi Chapter. Since starting college, she understood it was not easy to share her private world with her mother and family without attracting significant public attention. Nevertheless, her mother always cared about what she was learning both inside and outside the classroom, often asking about her sorority life and other experiences.
Zahara also revealed that she often takes on the role of a "second mother" as the eldest daughter in the family. "I enjoy taking care of my younger siblings, learning from the care and compassion my mother has shown us," she added. Concluding her speech, she reiterated a quote she had heard many years prior: "I am a strong woman, raised by a strong woman." Afterward, Zahara turned to the artist and thanked her mother.

Zahara was born in 2005 in Ethiopia and was adopted by Angelina Jolie at just seven months old. One year later, Brad Pitt, who was then dating Jolie, adopted her, and she subsequently took the Jolie-Pitt surname. The mother and daughter often returned to Africa to visit her homeland and remember her roots. Zahara is interested in jewelry design, has her own product line, and is encouraged by her mother to participate in humanitarian activities.
She became a college student in 2022, majoring in Psychology with a minor in educational studies. After her parents divorced in 2016, Zahara and her siblings, Maddox, 25, Pax Thien, 23, Shiloh, 20, and twins Vivienne and Knox, live with their mother in Los Angeles. in 11/2023, she introduced herself as Zahara Marley Jolie, rather than using the Jolie-Pitt surname, at an AKA sorority event. She is the first of their children to publicly change her name since her parents' separation.
