Angelina Jolie attended the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival to promote her latest film, Couture, set in the world of high fashion. She discussed her personal style with ENews, revealing how her family reacts to each other's clothing choices.
The actress is currently a single mother after divorcing Brad Pitt. They have six children: three adopted and three biological – Maddox, 24, Pax Thien, 22, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 17.
According to Jolie, her family values the idea that "everyone has their own taste." She explained, "We're very democratic. Everyone gets to be who they are. As long as you’re being yourself, we’re all good. If you’re trying too hard to impress or to be someone you’re not, we’ll call you on it. But if you’re just you, keep being you."

The actress has recently garnered attention for her beauty and elegant fashion sense. On 7/9, Jolie was praised for her sophisticated look in a leg-baring trench coat on the festival's red carpet, reminiscent of her pose at the 2012 Oscars. The previous week, she surprised fans with a blonde bob hairstyle on a London film set, reminding audiences of her appearance in Life or Something Like It (2002).
Jolie also discussed Maxine, her character in Couture, an American filmmaker attending Paris Fashion Week. While Jolie strives for authenticity, Maxine keeps things simple, wearing a large black coat throughout the film. Despite their differing approaches to fashion, Jolie believes they share common ground.
"I feel like there's a softness in the film, a connection between women, that I haven't experienced in others I’ve worked on. I’ve never done anything so feminine. Although we have some great male characters, it's very feminine and connects women around the world," she added.

The Toronto International Film Festival ran from 4/9 to 14/9. In addition to the main events, Jolie participated in discussions about her new project. During the film's premiere on 7/9, she became emotional when an audience member asked for advice for those who have lost loved ones to cancer. The question reminded her of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died of breast cancer in 2007. Jolie underwent a preventative double mastectomy in 2013. Her character in Couture also faces the disease.
The actress recalled: "I remember my mother saying one thing when she was sick. At dinner one night, everyone just kept asking her how she was feeling, and what she’d been doing since she got sick. She said, ‘It’s all they ask about.’ So, I say this, if you know somebody who is fighting any disease, ask them about the other parts of their life. They’re whole people still living."
Born in 1975, Angelina Jolie is one of Hollywood's A-list stars. Throughout her career, she has won three Golden Globe Awards and an Oscar. She has been married three times: to Jonny Lee Miller, Billy Bob Thornton, and Brad Pitt.
