Ha Tam Nhu was moved to tears when the results were announced on the evening of 20/9. While expressing some regret at not winning the crown, she voiced happiness for the love and support she received from fellow contestants and the audience.
In the final round, Ha Tam Nhu confidently showcased herself in evening gown, swimsuit, and interview segments. She stood out on stage in a vibrant red gown and matching lipstick.
During the top 6 interview segment, she was asked: "In life, if you face a difficult period, what do you usually tell yourself or do to overcome it?". She responded in Vietnamese, with translation provided.
"I think that people of any gender or age encounter difficulties, but what matters most is that we don't give up or lose hope. We must remain determined in our choices.
I have always pursued my dreams and aspirations, never giving up, which is why I am standing here today - in the top 6 of Miss International Queen 2025. I am incredibly proud and want to share my voice with the LGBT community in Vietnam and around the world, to show that transgender people deserve to be loved, to live authentically, and to find happiness," she said.
However, in the top 3 interview, Ha Tam Nhu's response lacked focus. To the common question: "Sometimes growth comes from setbacks. What was your biggest failure? And what important lesson or experience did you learn from it?", many viewers felt her answer was rambling and strayed from the topic.
Born Ha Minh Vuong in Vinh Long, Ha Tam Nhu has measurements of 84-64-90 cm. She underwent gender confirmation surgery in 2023. Her family's support has been a source of strength during challenging times. She won the Miss International Queen Vietnam title in May, securing her place in the international competition.
Over the past two weeks, Ha Tam Nhu performed well in several preliminary events, including placing in the top 3 for Talent.
This year's competition, held in Thailand from 5/9, attracted 23 contestants from around the world. The crown went to Midori Mone of the US, who impressed with her striking appearance and confident speaking ability. The first runner-up was Olivia Lauren of Cuba.
Held in Thailand since 2004, Miss International Queen is one of the world's largest beauty pageants for transgender women. Vietnam's best result in this competition was Huong Giang Idol's victory in 2018. Transgender beauty Tuong San participated in August 2024 and also achieved second runner-up.
