Anh Thu stated that initially, upon reading the script, she felt anxious because the character involved many complex segments requiring significant acting skill. After an extended absence from cinema, she made efforts to relearn many things, from method acting and psychological analysis to "priming" emotions. "'This is the most challenging role of my career, making me both eager to perform and fearful of not doing it justice,' she stated."
At 44, she shared that she does not prioritize fame, cherishing every opportunity to act. "'After many life events, I realized my passion for the profession remains intact. I have also gained more experience to share with younger actors,' Anh Thu shared."
Anh Thu is from TP HCM. She won the Most Favorite Model and Excellent Model awards at the Vietnam Model 2004 competition. She rose to prominence as one of the top supermodels of the 2000s. In 2007, she starred in Muoi, the first feature film co-produced by Vietnam and South Korea. Phuoc Sang invested in the work, which pioneered the domestic horror film genre in the 2000s. The film revolves around the legend of the spirit of Muoi (Anh Thu), a girl living in a Vietnamese village in the early 20th century. The film grossed nearly 30 billion VND domestically, becoming a box office phenomenon. In 2022, she made a guest appearance in the sequel, Muoi: Loi Nguyen Tro Lai, acting alongside Hong Anh and Binh Minh, two actors from the first installment.
