Born in 2000, the actor is the eldest son of artist Vo Hoai Nam. From a young age, Hoai Vu developed a passion for acting by watching his father's 'Criminal Police' series. While in high school, his father initially discouraged his acting ambitions. However, after Hoai Vu completed his first year at the Hanoi University of Theater and Cinema, his father began to support and encourage his career.
As the son of a renowned artist, Vo Hoai Vu admitted to facing pressure. After graduating, he was eager to move south, applying for numerous theater internships without success. His father, artist Vo Hoai Nam, then offered a pivotal piece of advice: "Do you want to be a torch that flares up and then extinguishes, or a steady flame that burns slowly but stably and for a long time?" Hoai Vu reflected deeply on these words, subsequently dedicating himself to rigorous training in theater.
Artist Vo Hoai Nam, born in 1965, rose to fame in the late 1990s, known for his rugged, romantic charm in films such as 'White Begonia', 'Childhood', and 'Criminal Police'. In 2002, 'King of the Dump', starring Nam, marked the first Vietnamese-produced film to be submitted for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars.
