'Bac Bling' wins inspiring music award

Hoa Minzy's song "Bac Bling" was honored at the Vietnam iContent 2025 awards ceremony on the evening of 29/11.

At the event, Hoa Minzy was overwhelmed when her song was named in the Digital Product - Inspiring Music category, tying with Nguyen Hung's "Con gi dep hon". These two works surpassed nominees such as "Made in Vietnam", Phuong My Chi's "Buon trang", and "Nhung ngay troi bao la" from the "Gia dinh haha" show.

The singer cried as the audience cheered, acknowledging her efforts. She stated that she initially wanted to create a music product to express her simple love for her hometown, Bac Ninh, and felt fortunate that the song could impact a wide audience. The singer expressed pride hearing children in the Central and Southern regions fluently sing: "An mot mieng trau". "I have never performed a song continuously from the beginning of the year until now", the singer said.

Hoa Minzy shared that each time she performs "Bac Bling", she remembers her family, hometown, and son, Bo. The singer thanked musician Tuan Cry, artist Xuan Hinh, music producer Masew, director Nhu Dang, her crew, and 300 residents of Lac Xa village who supported her to "create a vibrant, distinctly Vietnamese music video filled with love".

According to Xuan Bac, Director of the Performing Arts Department and one of the nine judges, this year's category had many quality nominations, posing a challenge for the council. After a lively debate, the members reached a consensus to find a product that met all criteria.

"Bac Bling", released in March, blends Kinh Bac folk music with modern sounds. It helps spread Bac Ninh's identity and national culture, inspiring love for homeland and country among the public, especially the younger generation. The song became a sensation both domestically and internationally, with its music video reaching 200 million views fastest in V-pop history.

Earlier, Hoa Minzy received the "Individual for Community" award alongside TikToker Vinh Thich An Ngon. "The award makes me more grateful for life", Hoa Minzy said. Throughout her career and in her personal life, the singer strives for public recognition. She thanked the audience for their love, which has given her a more prosperous life to help those in need.

Hoa Minzy, 30 years old, whose real name is Nguyen Thi Hoa, is from Bac Ninh. She won the Star Academy program in 2014. Her popular songs include "Roi bo" (Vu Huy Hoang), "Khong the cung nhau suot kiep" (Mr Siro), and "Bat tinh yeu len" (Tang Duy Tan). In early 2024, Hoa Minzy received the "Most Loved Female Singer" award at Mai Vang for the first time. In the same year, she was honored as "Female Singer of the Year" at the Cong Hien awards.

Vietnam iContent 2025 was jointly organized by the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with VnExpress and FPT Online Joint Stock Company (FPT Online). Event programs were live-streamed on VnExpress newspaper, VnExpress Fanpage, and Vietnam iContent 2025 Fanpage.

This year's awards were more streamlined than the first season, yet still attracted over 100 nominations and 500,000 votes over two months. Before the awards gala, event activities took place throughout 29/11. The morning session featured the discussion "For our creators, for our country - the content creation industry rising with the nation". A highlight was an open dialogue between KOLs, brands, and leaders from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, centered on the theme: "What will the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism do to support the development of the digital content industry". The afternoon session, Vietnam Creator and Brands Summit, discussed "The responsibility of trust - responsibility with public trust".
