Miss Vietnam 2022 Thanh Thuy showcased an ao dai from Ngo Nhat Huy's "Long Phuong Van Ca" collection. The design drew inspiration from characteristic patterns and the nostalgic culture of the ancient capital. Huy selected silk materials and applied pearl and crystal embellishments, giving the outfit a distinct oriental flair.

Miss Vietnam 2018 Tieu Vy (left) and artist Kim Xuan, an ambassador for the festival, presented Tran Thien Khanh's "Huong Ky Uc" collection. The designer incorporated silk dyeing techniques to recreate the serene beauty of a Hue sunset.

Designer Lien Huong introduced the "Lung Linh Sac Hoa" collection, celebrating the gentle and radiant beauty of women. Floral patterns were painted on ombre silk. Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 Vo Le Que Anh (right) served as the vedette, performing alongside other models.

Miss Grand Vietnam 2023 Le Hoang Phuong wore an ao dai by Ivan Tran, inspired by Ho Chi Minh City. The design's highlight was its light transmission patterns, stylized from images of technology signals and smart city data networks.

Miss World Vietnam 2024 Bao Ngoc showcased an outfit by designer Viet Hung, inspired by the image of storks amidst reed fields.

Miss Grand Vietnam 2025 Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi presented a design by Nguyen Huy Hoang, inspired by water puppetry. The design recreated images of communal house roofs by a lake, once stages for folk tales.

Second runner-up Miss Grand Vietnam 2025 Le Thi Thu Tra wore Bui Mai Khanh's "Vu Nam Roi" collection. The design drew inspiration from Nam Dinh water puppetry, recreating the beauty of folk culture.

Second runner-up Miss National Vietnam 2024 Nguyen Thi Cam Ly showcased Nguyen Nhut Duy's "Tinh Hoa Dau Bac" (Essence of Silver Beading). The designer drew inspiration from the Dinh Cong silver beading village, a place preserving the art of intricate handcrafted silver. The outfit combined the image of two dragons flanking the sun, a symbol of power, nobility, sanctity, and strength.

First runner-up Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 Le Phan Hanh Nguyen wore Huy Nguyen's "Cu Giai Dang Nguyen," inspired by the craft of making cellophane lanterns. The outfit recreated the image of a crab, where the crab's shell, known as "giap," is a homophone for the word in the phrase "Giap bang de danh" (passing the imperial examination), symbolizing academic success.

Runner-up Miss World Vietnam 2023 Huynh Minh Kien appeared in Nguyen Thai Nhac's "Lua Vang" (Golden Rice) collection. The designer drew inspiration from the traditional ba ba shirt, reimagined with a message of cherishing roots and aspiring for progress.

Actress Phuong Anh Dao is one of 37 ao dai ambassadors.

Under the theme "Golden Silk Threads - Weaving Aspirations," the elaborate stage combined traditional art with 3D mapping technology. A "silk cocoon transforming into a butterfly" model symbolized convergence, transformation, and breakthroughs in the new era. The opening ceremony brought together 37 designers from three regions, nearly 400 ao dai designs, and 600 performers and models.

The event, hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, marks several milestones this year: the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh being named Ho Chi Minh City, 1,986 years since the Hai Ba Trung uprising, and the 116th International Women's Day on 8/3. On the morning of 8/3, a folk dance performance and ao dai parade are expected to attract approximately 50,000 people at various locations across the city.
