MAMA (Mnet Asia Music Awards) is an annual South Korean music award ceremony. Mnet Media initiated and maintained the awards since 1999, honoring artists for their yearly achievements. From 2009, the awards expanded to recognize prominent figures in the Asian music scene. Hong Kong has hosted the awards multiple times.
Numerous entertainment events have been postponed or canceled after the apartment fire disaster in the special administrative region. Actors Carlos Chan and Shiga Lin, a married couple, withdrew from a Christmas celebration program. They stated that such shows are currently unimportant, and society's attention should focus on rescue efforts.
Actors Yang Mi, Shu Qi, Charmaine Sheh, Gillian Chung, and Nicholas Tse posted on their personal social media accounts, praying for the safety of those affected by the apartment fire.

The fire at the Wang Fuk Court apartment complex on 26/11 caused at least 44 deaths, left 45 people in critical condition, and 279 still missing. This is considered Hong Kong's deadliest fire since World War II.
The blaze erupted from a bamboo scaffolding system outside a building at Wang Fuk Court at 14h51, then spread to the remaining structures within the eight-building complex. By the morning of 27/11, firefighters had brought the fire under control in four of the seven buildings.
Miss Hong Kong 2020 Tse Ka Yee stated that her aunt, who lived in an apartment at Wang Fuk Court, was evacuated in time. Yesterday, she could only watch in shock as the fire consumed homes.
Tse Ka Yee wrote on Instagram: "My deepest condolences to those affected, those who lost their homes. I pray for everyone. Today is a heartbreaking day."
