A representative for supermodel Cindy Crawford’s family told People the family "asks for privacy during this extremely difficult and painful time." TMZ reported that the autopsy process is not yet complete.

Born in 1999 in Beverly Hills, California, Presley Gerber was the eldest child of supermodel Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber. His younger sister is model and actress Kaia Gerber, 25. Presley also pursued a career in fashion, signing with IMG at 15. While he and his sister were initially considered promising faces in the fashion world, only Kaia's career developed.

On the Studio 22 podcast in 2023, Presley stated his desire to help people struggling with mental health issues and depression, having experienced these challenges himself. "I've seen many things, learned many things. I hope what I can do is make those mistakes for others, so they don't have to repeat what I did," he said.

In an August interview with Vogue, Kaia Gerber revealed her brother's battle with drug addiction "lasted a decade." She stated, "When something like that happens in the family, it seems to weigh heavily on everyone. I think that's why I started to label myself as easy to manage, never asking for anything. Because I felt it was too much for my parents to have two children who needed help."
