Despite the nostalgic reunion, many fans expressed regret over the absence of Trieu Vy, the series' female lead. Since 2021, Trieu Vy's career has faced significant challenges: all films starring her were removed from video platforms, and her name was deleted from film award portals. Brands she represented also hid or removed related posts on Weibo. These actions have led fans to speculate about a "ban", though authorities have not publicly disclosed the reasons for any penalties against the actress.
